ActionSA Overwhelmed by South Africans Response to Candidate Elections

Since the opening of voting in our historic Candidate Selection Elections this past week, we have been overwhelmed by South African’s response, with thousands of voters across Gauteng turning out to elect their preferred ward and mayoral candidates in the metros of Johannesburg, Tshwane and Ekurhuleni. Yesterday, residents safely voted in 36 walk-in voting stations to show their deep desire for change and electing the candidates that they want to represent ActionSA on the ballot paper in the upcoming Local Government Elections.

South Africans from every walk of life embraced a new and more accountable way of electing representatives who will fight for the wellbeing of their communities. Residents across the three metros may continue to cast their votes online at: until Sunday, 27 June 2021, at 23:59.

Our communities are gatvol of a broken political system that has only served to force corrupt, unethical and incompetent political leaders on them; political leaders who are only interested in serving their political parties and enriching themselves. Our revolutionary electoral success provides a clear case for breaking with the status quo and handing power back to residents – not only in the Gauteng metro municipalities but in the lead-up to National General Elections in 2024, across the country as well.

The coming Local Government Elections will provide all communities with an opportunity to finally fix South Africa by kicking out the corrupt ANC. If all the 18.3 million South Africans who did not vote in the past election stand together to elect an ethical and competent government that will serve the people of our country, over the party they represent, we can finally bring hope to all South Africans.

By working together, we can fix cities by electing representatives who will serve residents first. ActionSA stands ready to provide an alternative to the broken political system that has failed South Africans.
