Born and raised in Durban, Michael was educated at Michaelhouse and Rhodes University. He served 9 years as the Managing Director of the DA in KZN and Gauteng, and in 2016, Herman Mashaba appointed him as his chief of staff in the City of Johannesburg. In 2019, Michael co-founded The People’s Dialogue and ActionSA.
