Join CUT for the 6th Annual Herman Mashaba Lecture on Entrepreneurship, as we host Prince Michael of Liechtenstein, an internationally recognized scholar in Entrepreneurship as this years guest lecturer.

This lecture is a yearly event of prestigious standard which CUT invites internationally acclaimed speakers in their respective fields of expertise to engage with the university, its partners and community.  Prince Michael’s lecture will focus on entrepreneurship as a basis for sustainability and draw on his many years of extensive work in this field.

Prince Michael of Liechtenstein completed his training at the Economic University of Vienna (Austria) with a Master’s in Business Administration. During his studies he took various practical training periods, working with banks and manufacturing companies in Canada, the US and Belgium (Brussels).

From 1978 to 1987 he worked for Nestlé SA in the fields of controlling, management and marketing on various markets in Europe and Africa. In 1987 he returned to Liechtenstein where he took over the position of a Managing Director with Industrie- und Finanzkontor Ets. Vaduz, which today is a leading trust company with tradition and expertise in the long-term and trans-generational preservation of wealth, especially family wealth. Today, Prince Michael of Liechtenstein is Chairman of Industrie- und Finanzkontor Ets. as well as Founder and Chairman of Geopolitical Intelligence Services AG Vaduz.

The inaugural lecture was initiated after the well-known and renowned entrepreneur and  former Executive Mayor of Johannesburg, Dr Herman Mashaba, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration by CUT’s Faculty of Management Sciences in 2013.

Since the inaugural lecture by Dr Mashaba himself in 2014, CUT has brought a sterling line up of speakers and many opportunities for internal stakeholders and partners to share their knowledge and meet with world experts in this field.

In 2015, he invited Prof. Kurt Leube, Professor in Economics of Stanford University. The lecture did not take place in 2016 because of the fees-must-fall-campaign. In 2017 Ms Nomsa Mosuwe, a very renowned entrepreneur and achiever and currently a Council Member of CUT gave the lecture.

In 2018, the lecture was delivered by Dr Brand Pretorius, retired CEO of McCarthy Motor Holdings and currently an Honorary Doctor of CUT. And last year the lecture once again, had an international flavour with the presence of Prof Joan Lockyer, a renowned academic scholar from Coventry University in the United Kingdom.

Join CUT as we host guest lecturer, Prince Michael of Liechtenstein who is member of various professional organisations such as the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Furthermore, he is board member of the Liechtenstein Institute of Professional Trustees and Fiduciaries, the International Institute of Longevity as well as Chairman of the European Center of Austrian Economics Foundation Vaduz; for a discussion on Entrepreneurship, basis for Sustainability.
