ActionSA has resolved to terminate the membership of two of its City of Tshwane Councillors.

On the 14 March, while conducting a door-to-door canvassing in Nzobo ward 11, a small rural area in Nongoma in preparation for a by-election which is set to take place on 5 April 2023.

ActionSA welcomes the suspension of Cape Town Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Malusi Booi, following the recent raid by SAPS’s Commercial Crimes Unit in the offices of the City, as part of the police’s investigation into fraud and corruption.

This morning, Gauteng Provincial Chairperson Funzi Ngobeni, National Chairperson Michael Beaumont and National Spokesperson Lerato Ngobeni, laid criminal charges against two individuals sent by the Defence of People (DoP) political party who attempted to bribe our councillor to vote for the ANC-led opposition.

ActionSA is dismayed that the provincial budget for the 2023/24 fiscal year provided nothing new and continues to ignore the plight of the people of the Eastern Cape.

ActionSA is concerned that Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi, is forging ahead with a plan to provide an emergency button (e-button) to the more than 16 million people living in the province at a time when police already fail to respond to emergency calls.

ActionSA President Herman Mashaba writes an open letter to President Cyril Ramaphosa on behalf of ActionSA and all law-abiding South African citizens to urge the President and his government to show leadership and prevent the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) from plunging South Africa into anarchy with their proposed national shutdown.

ActionSA is pleased to announce that Funzi Ngobeni will assume the role of Gauteng Provincial Chairperson following the departure of Bongani Baloyi.

Following meetings held between ActionSA President and Bongani Baloyi, it has been mutually agreed that ActionSA and Baloyi will go their separate ways.

ActionSA is concerned that Acting Public Protector, Adv Kholeka Gcaleka’s preliminary report into the Phala Phala burglary is fatally flawed on account that it clears President Ramaphosa of wrongdoing.
