ActionSA Senate Finalises Plans in Response to Electoral Court Judgement

ActionSA’s Senate has considered and adopted plans to ensure our campaign responds effectively to the recent ruling of the Electoral Court.

The Senate, ActionSA’s highest decision-making body, has resolved to:

  • Await the written reasons for the judgement before commenting further on the matter or determining any further legal response.
  • Focus all energy on the election. This will include a deliberate campaign to drive voter awareness to identify ActionSA on the ballot paper, including:

    • The production of digital aids on social media;
    • Scaling up of branding at all voting station front-of-house operations; and
    • The preparation of dummy ballot papers for ActionSA volunteers to assist voters (outside voting stations) to identify the party on the ballot paper.

  • Stage the ‘Let’s Fix South Africa Rally to be held on 28 October 2021, and the use of this platform to communicate this message and demonstrate ActionSA’s resilience.
  • Designing methodology to monitor the impact of the ballot paper design in such a way that ActionSA is prepared to challenge the election outcome if it becomes necessary.

ActionSA has grown into a large organisation, responsible to provide the political alternative for far too many South Africans, to allow recent events to stand in the way of our objectives.

We note and express our most sincere appreciation for the overwhelming outpouring of support that we have received throughout this matter.

The test of the character of any organisation is how it responds to challenges. I am confident that the Senate’s leadership, the incredible structures of ActionSA and the undying spirit of the South African people who aspire to Fix South Africa, we will prevail.
