SONA 2023: ActionSA Launches Campaign to Engage South Africans About Solutions Needed to Fix SA

Ahead of President Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on 9 February, ActionSA is launching a public engagement campaign to seek the views of all South Africans about the solutions needed to fix our country.

South Africans are all too familiar with the many challenges we face. Crumbling infrastructure, Stage 6 load shedding, 12 million people without jobs, and an education system that does not empower young people with the skills they need to succeed. After nearly three decades of ANC government, it’s clear that the ANC does not have the plans or solutions to address these challenges.

ActionSA believes that these challenges can be overcome with the help of the good, hard-working, and law-abiding people of South Africa who love their country. If we work together, we can fix South Africa.

As we approach SONA, from tomorrow onwards ActionSA will be embarking on a campaign to engage as many of the residents of our country as possible around the solutions needed to fix some of our most pressing challenges:

  • Poor education
  • Crime and corruption
  • Crumbling infrastructure, including Eskom
  • Our failing economy and unemployment

This campaign, which will take place in the weeks leading up to SONA, will take the form of a series of events to highlight the impact of the ANC’s catastrophic leadership on the people of our country. Importantly, our objective is to give our people a voice in finding solutions to these challenges. From reforming the education system and the economy, to fighting crime and corruption, we want to hear from the people of South African about how we can build an inclusive and prosperous future for all.

The campaign will culminate in the launch of ActionSA’s vision for South Africa, which will set out a future for our country that we can all be proud of.

In addition to the face-to-face engagements that will commence from tomorrow, we are today launching an online platform to empower South Africans to share their views with us.

It is my firm belief that there is nothing bad about South Africa that cannot be fixed by what is good about South Africa – the people of our nation who want to see it succeed. We encourage all South Africans to join the conversation and help us shape a collective future defined by hope and prosperity.
