ActionSA Places Cllr Kholofelo Morodi on Precautionary Suspension
Funzi Ngobeni MPL
ActionSA Gauteng Provincial Chairperson
ActionSA’s Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) resolved last night to place Cllr Kholofelo Morodi on precautionary suspension with immediate effect.
This necessary decision follows consideration of a formal complaint arising from allegations presented before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, which the party takes with the utmost seriousness and is taking every step to ensure that the full facts of the matter are ventilated.
The PEC took this step in line with the Party’s Interim Constitution to protect the integrity of the organisation and to ensure that the matter is thoroughly and fairly investigated, with the full cooperation of all, to establish the facts.
ActionSA wishes to clarify that this precautionary suspension does not constitute a finding of wrongdoing, nor does it imply any presumption of guilt, but it is a necessary measure to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation while the party awaits the outcomes.
In terms of the PEC resolution, and for the duration of the suspension, Cllr Morodi will not participate in Party activities, structures, or communication platforms.
The matter has been referred to the Provincial Ethics and Disciplinary Officer, who will conduct an investigation in accordance with the Party’s Rules and Procedures. The outcome will be considered by the PEC in due course, and the party will provide an update accordingly.
ActionSA will continue to demonstrate its commitment to accountability, transparency, and ethical leadership, and where concerns arise, it will act decisively while ensuring that due process is followed.
