ActionSA Demands Urgent Probe into KwaNdebele Syndicates Targeting RAF Beneficiaries
Press Statement by Thoko Mashiane MPL
ActionSA Member of Mpumalanga Legislature
ActionSA calls for the immediate deployment of specialised law enforcement units to KwaNdebele to investigate and dismantle criminal syndicates targeting Road Accident Fund (RAF) beneficiaries.
We are outraged by reports of beneficiaries being kidnapped, assaulted, and forced to hand over their payouts. This is not random crime. It is organised, targeted, and deeply alarming.
It also raises serious questions:
How do these criminals know who has received RAF payments?
Who is leaking this information?
Is it from law firms handling claims?
Is it from financial institutions?
Or is personal data being sold to criminal networks?
This level of targeting suggests access to inside information, and that points to a much bigger failure. Communities are being terrorised while government fails to act.
ActionSA calls for an urgent multi-agency investigation involving SAPS, the Road Accident Fund, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies to identify both the criminals and any potential information leaks.
We further call for immediate protection measures for RAF beneficiaries. Residents cannot live in fear for simply receiving what is rightfully theirs. The people of Mpumalanga deserve safety, accountability, and a government that protects them.
