ActionSA firmly opposes the infiltration of South Africa by dubious entrepreneurs and self-proclaimed “biblepreneurs” who prey on hardworking and unsuspecting citizens. These individuals exploit faith and desperation, robbing people of their innocence and hard-earned money.
To be clear, ActionSA acknowledges and respects the many foreign nationals who have legally entered South Africa and contribute positively to various sectors of society. These individuals are not the focus of our concerns.
Our concern lies with those who, like Timothy Omotoso, have entered our country and swiftly become entangled in criminal activities. Omotoso, in particular, has been accused of heinous crimes, including human trafficking, sexual assault, and racketeering involving vulnerable women and underage children. Such individuals have no place in South Africa. Our nation already grapples with a serious crime crisis; we cannot afford to harbour those who come here under false pretences only to worsen the situation.
The Eastern Cape High Court’s decision to acquit Omotoso is a devastating blow to victims and a glaring indictment of our immigration services, criminal justice system, and, more specifically, the National Prosecuting Authority’s ongoing failure to deliver justice. This incompetence allows alleged predators to escape accountability, leaving victims without closure and the public without faith in the system. This cannot continue.
Timothy Omotoso must never again be allowed to operate as a church leader in South Africa. His name, along with those of his alleged victim recruiters, Zukisa Sitho and Lusanda Sulani, must be added to the national sex offenders’ register. They should never again be permitted to work in environments where they have access to vulnerable women and children.
Furthermore, we call on immigration authorities to revoke Omotoso’s residency status and immediately deport him to Nigeria. South Africa cannot be a refuge for those who exploit and harm its people.
