ActionSA Condemn the Attack of Medical Personnel and wrote to MEC of Safety to deploy police at Themba Hospital
Thoko Mashiane
ActionSA Mpumalanga Premier Candidate
ActionSA condemns the attack of medical personnel at Themba Hospital in Mpumalanga, by the Kabhokweni Business Forum bullies who threatened and assaulted nurses and patients and demanding to be awarded tenders at the hospital.
ActionSA wrote to the MEC of Safety and Security Vusi Shongwe to increase security by deploying the police to the hospital and ensure that workers are safe to go back to work to the closed Themba hospital.
It is unacceptable that healthcare workers, who are committed to healing and saving lives, are subjected to such inexcusable acts. We urge authorities to take swift and decisive action to ensure the safety and security of healthcare workers within Themba Hospital and across all healthcare facilities.
Enhanced security measures, rigorous enforcement of existing laws, and initiatives to raise awareness about the importance of respecting healthcare professionals are crucial steps that must be taken immediately.
ActionSA will offer caring and inclusive governance, and we will adopt a pro-poor plan of action that ensures all residents have access to quality basic services and primary healthcare that cater to all their residents.
We believe that criminals, not law-abiding residents, are the ones that must live in fear. All residents have the right to be safe and feel safe in their communities.
