ActionSA Extends Condolences to Families 7 Victims Drowned in Mpumalanga Floods

ActionSA conveys its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the 7 people who drowned due to flooding in the province to date.
This comes after Police Spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, confirmed that 7 victims drowned and the bodies of 3 of the deceased were recovered while 4 are still missing. The victims were from Nkomazi, Nelspruit and Piet Retief.
Mpumalanga has experienced one of its worst floods and landslides in recent history.
ActionSA urges residents living near rivers and dams or low-lying areas to take extra precautions during this rainy season. Whether walking or driving, it is always safe to wait out these heavy rains and overflowing rivers.
We also urge people that want to use rivers for religious purposes to postpone these activities as forecasters warn of more downpours.
ActionSA requests the Provincial Government to immediately to house those people who have been displaced by the floods.
