ActionSA Issues Condolences to the British People on Passing of Queen Elizabeth II

ActionSA has noted with sadness the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and shares our heartfelt condolences to the British people for their loss. As a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, we share this loss with the people of the United Kingdom.

Queen Elizabeth has ruled as the British monarch since in 1952 and is rightly heralded to have ruled with dignity and in service to the people of the United Kingdom. Her rule presided over 14 US Presidents, the Cold War, the winding down of the British Empire and a global pandemic. Queen Elizabeth II has been a constant through decades of change, turbulence and prosperity for the British people and presided over much political change.

From a South African and African point of view, it was under her rule that the decolonisation of African countries accelerated. This is something that must be remembered and for which the role of Queen Elizabeth II must be written into the history books.

ActionSA acknowledges and celebrates the role that Queen Elizabeth has played as an indisputably iconic world leader and offers our sympathies to the British people for such a significant loss.
