ActionSA Leadership Meets with AmaZulu King in a Historic Occasion
Zwakele Mncwango
ActionSA KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Chairperson
ActionSA Leader Herman Mashaba and myself met with amaZulu King Misuzulu Sinqobile kaZwelithini at the royal palace in KwaNongoma on Thursday to ask for his blessing, and pay respect to the Royal Family and His Majesty.
The meeting marks a historic occasion for two-year-old ActionSA as it marks the first time the party introduced itself to the monarchy.
During lively discussions, ActionSA committed its support to the Zulu King and shared the party’s plans for rural development in the province.
The King specifically mentioned the role Mashaba played as mayor of the City of Johannesburg, and gave his blessing to the party.
ActionSA furthermore asked the King, who is not politically affiliated, to continue playing his fatherly role for political leaders across the spectrum, to give guidance and call leaders to order where they have erred.
ActionSA is grateful for the opportunity to meet and engage with the King and appreciated the warm welcome the party received.
