ActionSA Lesedi Region bemoans lack of water supply to residents within the Municipality which has gone on for several days with no end in sight.
Equally concerning is that the Heidelberg water supply system has been depleted, stemming from a lack of supply from Randwater, despite the maintenance schedule they provided for 06 December
2024.
Though the Municipality has provided water tankers to supply water to residents, it is disheartening that the water truck supply point memo that the Municipality follows when going to a particular area does not provide a fixed time schedule. This will further inconvenience residents who are already reeling from the lack of reliable water supply.
The provisioning of water is a basic human right that every resident should be accorded. As such, Action SA Lesedi urges the Municipality to act swiftly in addressing this issue as it’s a violation of human rights.
