ActionSA is deeply concerned about the unexpected postponement of the Ordinary Council by the delinquent Speaker, Mncedi Nzwanana, in the City of Tshwane today.
A voicenote circulating on social media by ANC Greater Tshwane Caucus Spokesperson suggests that their Provincial Leadership requested the withdrawal of the ANC-sponsored motion of no confidence (MoNC) in the Mayor of the City of Tshwane.
Instead of ensuring that the time wasted in Council this morning was duly recovered, the incompetent Speaker Nzwanana decided to postpone Council shortly after lunch, until further notice.
Just over a year ago, ActionSA filed court papers to allow a motion of no confidence (MoNC) to take place in City of Tshwane against Speaker Mncedi Nzwanana, after he dismissed two previous motions against him on frivolous grounds.
Our approach to the courts is premised on the reality that the Multi-Party Coalition in Tshwane will not achieve stability while this Speaker remains in office. The Speaker of the Council controls which items serve on the Council agenda, and the order thereof.
The sad reality is that this important office in the Multi-Party Coalition government in the City of Tshwane has been compromised by an individual who serves his own interests.
ActionSA awaits the court hearing in September 2024, to fast-track the removal of the incompetent Speaker Nzwanana. The residents of the City of Tshwane have suffered enough under the Speaker’s incompetent leadership.
