ActionSA extends our heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of legendary South African playwright, musician, and composer, Mbogeni Ngema, who passed away yesterday at 68 in a tragic car accident.
As we mourn his tragic passing, we also celebrate his creative genius which led to creation of the award-winning play and movie Sarafina! as well as co-authoring Woza Albert.
We thank him for his commitment to anti-Apartheid activism through his creative works, which highlighted the injustices of Apartheid on an international stage, helping to bring to an end the oppressive regime.
Ngema’s tragic passing on our roads over the festive season reminds us how much work still needs to be done to ensure a prosperous and safe South Africa for all.
