ActionSA Mourns the Passing of Johannesburg Integrity Commissioner, Dr Daniel Rampai

ActionSA mourns the passing of City of Johannesburg Integrity Commissioner, Dr Daniel Rampai, after a short illness and we express our sincere condolences to his friends and family.

While I was Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Council appointed Dr Rampai to the position of Integrity Commissioner in 2017 where I worked closely with him to improve the ethical conduct of both elected and appointed officials within the city.

Dr Rampai, who holds a degree in law, a master’s in business administration and a doctorate in technology, served the city with distinction for the past six years and helped to improve the overall functioning of the city.

Dr Rampai was the epitome of the Rule of Law, a key value of ActionSA. He always displayed neutrality and professionalism during the execution of his responsibilities and has left a void in the city that will be difficult to fill.

ActionSA values the contribution Dr Rampai made and will continue to work to honour his legacy by improving the ethical conduct of all public servants in South Africa.
