ActionSA notes the planned visit of Gauteng Education MEC, Matome Chiloane, to Pretoria Girls High following troubling allegations of racism.
In full recognition of the critical importance of a conducive educational environment free from discrimination, ActionSA calls on the MEC to ensure that the matter is fully ventilated and that the Department of Education coordinates with the school administration to promptly address any further issues.
ActionSA believes that discrimination fundamentally contradicts our values and the principles set out in the Constitution, therefore, we hope this matter is handled with due sensitivity and in recognition of the need to foster an inclusive learning environment for all students.
