ActionSA Outraged by Stock Theft Allegations Against ANC Councillor in Ditsobotla
Kwena Mangope
ActionSA North-West Provincial Chairperson
ActionSA is outraged and disappointed after learning, through social media reports, that a recently elected ANC councillor in the Ditsobotla Local Municipality has been arrested for stock theft in Lichtenburg.
Stock theft is rife in the North West Province and as a party, we are concerned about crime and lawlessness. However, learning that it is committed by a public representative makes a mockery of our criminal justice system.
We urge the police and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to ensure that justice is served in this case and that a strong message is sent out that politicians that they are not above the law.
We also call on the ANC in the North West not to interfere in ongoing investigations and court processes.
ActionSA commits to following this case closely in the coming months to ensure that law.
