Yesterday marked an important moment in our campaign to take back local government for the people of Nkangala.
The unveiling of my official election campaign poster is not simply about putting my face on a poster. It is about putting a clear choice before the people of Nkangala: we can continue with the same failures, or we can choose competent, accountable and ethical leadership.
Nkangala has enormous economic potential. It is home to communities, businesses, industries and hardworking residents who deserve municipalities that function and leaders who take responsibility.
Yet across our communities, residents continue to face challenges with water, roads, electricity, sanitation, unemployment and poor service delivery. Too often, people are expected to accept these failures as if they are unavoidable.
They are not.
The problem is not a lack of potential in Nkangala. The problem is political leadership that has failed to turn that potential into opportunity and better living conditions for residents.
I am contesting this election because I believe Nkangala deserves better.
If entrusted with the responsibility of leading the Nkangala District Municipality, I will place competent administration, financial discipline, accountability and service delivery at the centre of government.
We must ensure that public money is spent where it matters most. We must hold those responsible for failure accountable. We must protect municipal infrastructure and ensure that municipalities have the capacity to deliver the services residents pay for and deserve.
This election is not about personalities. It is about the future of Nkangala.
It is about whether our communities will continue receiving excuses or whether they will finally receive leadership that takes responsibility.
I am grateful for the support of ActionSA Provincial Leadership and our Deputy President, Dr Mbahare Kekana, who joined us as we officially take this campaign to the people of Nkangala.
But ultimately, this campaign belongs to the people.
We are not asking residents to vote for us because we make promises. We are asking them to judge us by the standard of leadership we are prepared to bring to local government.
The 2026 Local Government Elections are an opportunity to change the direction of Nkangala.
The choice is clear: more of the same, or a government that works for the people.
I am ready to lead.
