ActionSA Students’ Chapter Wins Big at Tshwane North College SRC Elections
Thabo Malosi
ActionSA Head of Students
April 17, 2023
ActionSA Students’ Chapter wins big at Tshwane North College Student Representative Council (SRC) elections. Our delegates won elections for institutional executive positions including President-General, Secretary-General and Treasurer-General at college top 42 positions.
The college held Institutional Student Representative Council (ISRC) induction training on 14 April 2023 where all 42 SRC members were electing ISRC.
ActionSA’s Khanyisile Mthembu won President-General becoming the second ActionSA female student leader, followed by Mahlatsi Selala who was elected Secretary-General; John Mogale won Treasurer-General; and Paige Masila, Deputy Secretary-General. Effectively, ActionSA now governs the college for two consecutive terms.
For far too long the TVET sector has been neglected by the Department of Higher Education. Educational facilities are dilapidating and educational resources such as libraries lacking without a tangible plan for resolution by the Department.
We believe the newly elected President-General and her collective executive will hold the institution management and the Department of Higher Education accountable on many issues that affect students.
ActionSA Students Chapter National Executive Council expresses its gratitude to the outgoing SRC led by Kamogelo Maswanganyi and look forward to her continued support for the new SRC to ensure that all academically deserving students at the College have equal opportunities to succeed.
