ActionSA to Embark on Nationwide Youth Voter Registration Drive Kicking Off This Youth Day

ActionSA will, this Youth Day, embark on a nationwide drive to get the youth conscientised and energised about using their voice and exercising their political power by getting registered to vote in the upcoming General Election in 2024.

Starting this Friday, 16 June 2023, ActionSA will be reaching out to those eligible members of our nation to reclaim their democratic and constitutional right to vote by registering them.

ActionSA will start this nationwide campaign in Soweto in Johannesburg.

This election is arguably the most important in our nation’s history since the advent of national democratic order in 1994.

In just under three decades, South Africa’s once-prosperous provinces have been made dysfunctional by a political system that fails to serve and uplift the needs of the people it swore an oath to. The promise of a prosperous post -1994 future for South Africa has simply not been achieved.

ActionSA says: no more! For the first time since the dawn of democracy, South Africa now has a viable political alternative that has one priority at the heart of everything we do: fixing South Africa for all its people.

While this campaign will focus on the youth who have since opted out of the political system, this campaign will also seek to energise those that have never voted before to address the electoral apathy that continues to grow with every election. If we are to rid this nation of the ANC and its almost 30 years of ineptitude, we will need to have all South Africans, of voting age, take part in this election to usher in a new government.

This weekend and those to follow, as we embark on this campaign, present an opportunity to place South Africa on a path of economic prosperity, safety, and shared development by fixing our provinces and our nation as we wrestle the country from the clutches of an ANC that would rather see it destroyed for their own narrow self-interest. The importance of ensuring that each eligible South African is registered to vote cannot be overstated. The time for talk has long passed and it is now time to take ACTION.

In doing so, ActionSA believes that solutions on how to fix South Africa won’t come from politicians but will come from experts and ordinary citizens who are most affected. Together we will be able to provide a clear alternative for South Africans and usher in change in the 2024 elections. Submissions can be made on ActionSA’s public platform here (https://www.actionsa.org.za/policy/).

In order to make these solutions implementable, we have to get as many South Africans as possible to register to vote so that we may remove the ANC and begin a process to restore the dignity of our people who have long since given up.

South Africa’s problems are not insurmountable, but we need to work together to #Fix SouthAfrica.
