ActionSA To Take on ANC and EFF in Seshego By-Election in Limpopo

At a Senate Meeting held on Friday, ActionSA resolved to contest the Ward 10 by-election in Seshego, Polokwane to be held on 25 January 2023.

The ward was won by the EFF away from the ANC by less than 50 votes in the 2021 local government elections. ActionSA views this by-election as an opportunity to take on the ANC and EFF outside of Gauteng, proving how politics in rural provinces is becoming a race between these three parties.

ActionSA has concluded that Mr John Hlongwane will stand as ActionSA’s candidate in the ward. Mr Hlongwane stood previously in the ward as an indepedent candidate and won by a landslide. He is a household name in this ward because of his track record in serving the residents and the work he does on the Community Policing Forum.

Without fear of contradiction, ActionSA will put forward the strongest candidate in this by-election.

Seshego is one of the oldest established townships in Limpopo yet it lags far behind the development of other townships in South Africa. The advent of an EFF Councillor in this ward has not changed this trend and ActionSA has a vital role in offering residents a real alternative to failed governance.

ActionSA’s growth in Limpopo has been meteoric with branches being established across the province. Many of those branches have been launched in the Capricorn District and specifically in Seshego. We are confident that this by-election will reveal how ActionSA has become a force in Limpopo and, increasingly, in provinces outside of Gauteng. We do this for millions of residents in South Africa who feel failed by the political establishment and want a viable alternative in 2024.
