ActionSA Welcomes Council Resolution Bringing Insourcing to Imminent Reality
Jackie Mathabathe
ActionSA Tshwane Caucus Leader
ActionSA expresses its elation at the bold decision taken by the council to advance the insourcing of security guards and cleaners, moving towards making this critical policy a reality.
Insourcing has long been a pillar of ActionSA’s policy framework, with ActionSA Tshwane championing this issue even prior to its council participation. The party has maintained a steadfast dedication to insourcing, recognising its significance and impact on the lives and welfare of essential workers in the City.
ActionSA has refrained from engaging in political manoeuvring surrounding such a pivotal issue, understanding the substantial implications at hand. It is regrettable that the process had to be restarted following the rescinding of the previous administration’s council resolution on insourcing.
Anticipation runs high as we await the upcoming feasibility study, which will delineate the roadmap towards a new era of decreased reliance on contracted services, minimising engagements with tenderpreneurs, and restoring the dignity of security and cleaning personnel within the City.
ActionSA firmly believes that insourcing is not only a practical measure for upholding the dignity of these workers but also a strategic approach to safeguarding critical municipal infrastructure. This initiative underscores the party’s unwavering commitment to fostering a work environment that champions the rights, welfare, and respect of all employees.
We applaud the council’s resolution and stand ready to work collaboratively towards the successful implementation of insourcing, ensuring a fair and dignified working environment for all.
