ActionSA Welcomes Donation of 45 Laptops to Top Performers in Olievenhoutbosch

ActionSA welcomes the donation of 45 new laptops and bags to top performers from Seshegong Secondary School and Steve Tshwete High School, Centurion, who participated in the City of Tshwane’s Career Expo in Centurion a few weeks ago.

City of Tshwane Acting Group Head: Shared Services Adolphus Madonsela and I formed part of the delegation at Seshegong Secondary School this morning. The disbelief and appreciation from both school management and scholars was tangible. “We are used to politicians making promises and not delivering,” said one of the scholars upon receiving her personal laptop and bag with name clearly marked. “We have been noticed.”

It was important to MMC Morodi that the scholars receive the donated laptops personally, so as to ensure that they benefit directly from this generous donation made by key stakeholders at Centurion’s Career Expo. “Often our kids don’t get to access donations made to schools, and they end up unused in schools or with the school management” she said.

“By giving personal laptops to these top performers from Olievenhoutbosch, we are setting them up for university. We will be looking out for their matric results in January 2026, hopeful that they will outperform their counterparts. These laptops will help level the playing ground when they get to university.”

ActionSA believes in social justice and quality education. This small gesture from the City of Tshwane is a step in the right direction towards the empowerment of young people from disadvantaged communities. We thank the City and our coalition partners for their commitment towards helping bridge the digital divide for the youth of Olievenhoutbosch.
