ActionSA Welcomes Private Investment in Infrastructure Development in Lesedi
Webster Kutoane
ActionSA Lesedi Regional Chairperson
Action SA welcomed the announcement of private investment in infrastructure development at the public participation meeting for Vopak, organised by the Office of the Speaker of Lesedi Municipality at Ratanda Multipurpose on Wednesday, 18 September 2024.
Vopak will be constructing two 20,000 cbm tanks, so as to enhance the operational flexibility of the existing 100, 000 cbm Vopak Ubun2 Project Lesedi Terminal.
ActionSA is pleased to note that this infrastructure project will result in much-needed employment opportunities and boost the local economy. We urge Vopak to adhere to fair employment processes, without any political influence and nepotism.
The high turnout at the public participation meeting is testimony to the high unemployment rate in Lesedi. ActionSA encourages the youth of Lesedi Local Municipality to take advantage of this great opportunity. Job creation through infrastructure development is what our struggling economy needs.
