ActionSA Welcomes the Arrest of Former Moses Kotane Official on Fraud Charges

ActionSA North West welcomes the arrest of a former Municipal Director at Moses Kotane Local Municipality who was arrested for fraud in connection with allegations that she received salaries for two government jobs.

We condemn, in the strongest terms possible, the actions of this former employee and discourage all government employees from simultaneous occupation of two government posts at the same time also known as double-dipping.

We call on the law enforcement agencies to ensure this individual is prosecuted and incarcerated and their assets seized to recoup the money that has been stolen from South Africans.

We also urge law enforcement agencies to investigate further to rule out the involvement of other individuals, and if so, more arrests should follow.

We also call on all the parties in the province not to interfere in ongoing processes.

ActionSA commits to follow this case closely and also calls on all organs of state to be accountable.
