ActionSA Writes to the Johannesburg City Manager to Urgently Investigate Cause of Fire that Gutted House in Ennerdale

On 17 June 2023, 9 days ago, a home situated on 4th Avenue in Ennerdale, was gutted by a suspicious fire, the cause of which remains unknown.
The fire took place between 05h30 and 06h00, whilst the City of Johannesburg Fire Department only responded after 07h00, after numerous calls were made. A neighbour eventually had to physically fetch them to tend to this emergency. Had they responded more timeously, significant damage could have been mitigated.
To date, the City of Johannesburg Fire Department has not returned to investigate the cause of the fire and to do the necessary investigations and take the necessary steps to have justice for the family that lost their home.
After visiting the family yesterday, I have taken it upon myself to write a letter to the City Manager, Mr Floyd Brink, requesting him to institute an urgent investigation into the cause of this fire, and why the Fire Department failed to act immediately upon being notified, and how the city is going to help this family that has lost their home due to the failure of the Fire Department to act expeditiously.
ActionSA is relentless in its fight for justice and we will not give up until the cause of the fire is known and the perpetrators of any wrongdoing are brought to book, if indeed this is an act of arson.
Together we will fix South Africa and we will fix Ennerdale.
