City of Tshwane Residents Should Have a Good and Safe Easter Weekend
Brendon Govender
ActionSA City of Tshwane Section 79 Chairperson of Roads and Transport
I would like to wish our residents well during this upcoming long-weekend and Easter period. As we know, the many residents of Tshwane will be travelling to visit friends and family during this period. Let us be safe on the many departures that we will take travelling on the roads connecting our Capital.
During this period of heightened traffic flow requires all of us to be alert and awake while traversing safely and patiently on jam-packed roads during peak hours. Those who are taking the N1 Northwards are urged to take regular and frequent breaks to remain at heightened alert behind the wheel. And to those who take the journey Eastwards on the N14, please always be vigilant and safe.
Let us take pride in our collective responsibility to ensuring we all reach our destination safely and come back revitalized.
Drinking and driving is never tolerated and no one under the influence should be behind the wheel on the roads. Drinking and driving leads to the endangerment of not only yourself but all the other road users and motorists in transit who are put in danger. Road casualties are high year on year, and this needs all of us to play our roles in reducing accidents.
Have a blessed Easter weekend and let us work together to be safe on the roads. A sincere thank you to all the law enforcement and emergency personnel keeping us safe during this time.
