CoJ City Manager Appointment: A Bungle ActionSA Warned Against by Letting ANC-EFF Coalition Continue
Nobuhle Mthembu
ActionSA City of Johannesburg Caucus Leader
ActionSA notes the Gauteng High Court Judgment on the appointment of the Johannesburg City Manager, Floyd Brink.
We are at odds to welcome such a judgment as we fought valiantly and on record against allowing the ANC-EFF government to continue at the helm of the City.
ActionSA warned the DA and then coalition partners against this sort of blow to the service delivery agenda in the City of Johannesburg that we had made great strides to putting on track.
On three separate occasions the DA had opportunities to rid Johannesburg residents of this nefarious ANC-EFF government in the City but failed to do so.
Beleaguered service delivery will now suffer another setback and it will, again, be the people of Johannesburg who will shoulder the brunt of this mangled appointment process at the hands of the ANC-EFF coalition of doom.
As a Party rooted in the Rule of Law, we will abide by today’s court judgement.
We would like to assure our residents of Johannesburg that we will work hard to ensure that today’s judgement does not affect service delivery and that ultimately the rule of law will be upheld in our City.
