Ekurhuleni Youth Forum Welcomes ANC’s Decision to Support ActionSA’s #Spaza4Locals initiative

Ekurhuleni Youth Forum commends the African National Congress (ANC) for supporting the call for the mass deportation of all illegal foreign nationals and the promotion of Spaza shops for local ownership. This initiative, spearheaded by ActionSA Parliamentary Caucus Chief Whip Lerato Ngobeni, is a collective effort to benefit all South Africans, especially those in townships and rural areas.

It is essential that all peace-loving and patriotic South Africans, regardless of political affiliation, join this call to assert that the local economy belongs to local people, as enshrined in our constitution and laws. We must pressurise those in government to recognise the importance of enforcing these laws.

This unified approach is reminiscent of the successful ‘Fees Must Fall’ movement, where South African student organisations came together to advocate for free quality education. Similarly, we must now unite to address our people’s pressing needs, specifically the fight against poverty and unemployment.

The only way to achieve this is by ensuring our people’s participation in the local economy. Therefore, we welcome the ANC’s involvement and encourage other parties to join this cause, which prioritises the economic emancipation of our people over political expediency. Together, we can liberate our people from the bondage of poverty and create a prosperous economy for all.
