Feedback from Coalition Oversight Group Meeting on City of Tshwane

The governing multi-party coalition in the City of Tshwane held a Coalition Oversight Group meeting (attended by leaders of political parties) last night to address important matters which necessitate public feedback.

The majority of the meeting considered the labour unrest that has arisen in the City of Tshwane. The coalition commended the considerable work by the City’s leadership to provide temporary service delivery measures during periods of disruption.

The resolution of the multi-party coalition was to guide the leadership of the City of Tshwane in its meetings with organised labour with a view to finding solutions to the impasse that has developed. In this regard the City’s leadership will announce steps that will stabilise labour relations and the delivery of frontline services.

Additionally, the meeting approved the addition of Defenders of the People (DOP) into our multi-party coalition government in Tshwane. The single councillor from DOP in Tshwane will add to the tenuous numbers of the multi-party coalition and bring greater stability.

The meeting was framed by positive discussions about the pressing challenges in the City of Tshwane and concluded with confidence that the City’s leadership is working in the interests of all residents to ensure stability of service delivery in all communities.
