ActionSA is disheartened by the Germiston Magistrates Court’s verdict, which once let Tony Kadzadi, an undocumented foreign national accused of hijacking and occupying a building, go free as the magistrate refused to hear his case until 27 February 2024.
This comes 12 months after ActionSA first raised the matter and, through our City of Ekurhuleni councillor and attorney, Kutloano Phoshoko, finally got him arrested.
Despite this unfortunate outcome and persistent delays by our South African law enforcement, ActionSA President, Herman Mashaba, will lead the next court appearance in February to demonstrate our seriousness in fighting the imminent breakdown of the rule of law in South Africa.
We will continue to fight for justice in this case, as we are a party that deeply values the rule of law and has worked tirelessly to ensure that South Africa’s laws are upheld.
This is now the 12th time that Kadzadi has had his case postponed, even though we believed that he would finally be placed behind bars for intimidating Khoza’s son, hijacking a building, and being in the country illegally. This matter highlights the breakdown in immigration just as we have seen with Pastor Shepherd Bushiri.
To demonstrate our support of Khoza, ActionSA yesterday picketed outside the court in support of Khoza, and although we are disappointed by the hearing, we maintain this is not justice denied but rather delayed, as we shall not allow for the abuse of justice regardless of these hurdles.
Kadzadi’s case highlights the many injustices ordinary South Africans face when they try to protect their property, with a legal system that favours criminals over law-abiding citizens. As a party that strongly values the rule of law, we will ensure that those guilty of contravening the law are held accountable and South Africa becomes a country governed by law and order.
We applaud Phoshoko, our Ekurhuleni Councillor and admitted attorney, for her endless work and efforts to achieve justice through our legal system. We encourage patriotic South Africans to vote for a party that puts South Africans first at the polls this year.
ActionSA will continue to support Khoza and her son by following the case step by step until justice is served to those guilty of breaking our laws and intimidating our citizens.
ActionSA will not allow further abuse of justice. South Africa is a country governed by laws, and we will not allow those laws to be ignored. We cannot allow the hard-fought rights of South Africans to be infringed upon in such a manner.
