Keep ActionSA Out Your Mouth, Dean – We’re Not Contesting Ward 110

ActionSA notes the false and desperate claims being spread by the Desperate Alliance’s (DA) KwaZulu-Natal Chairperson, Dean Macpherson, alleging that ActionSA is contesting the upcoming by-election in Ward 110 of the eThekwini Municipality.
Let us set the record straight — ActionSA is not contesting the by-election in Ward 110, nor are we supporting any candidate who is contesting in that ward.
The claim is a blatant lie intended to mislead the public and distract from the real issue at hand.
Dean Macpherson’s tantrum is nothing more than an attempt to deflect attention from legitimate questions raised by ActionSA Member of Parliament, Alan Beesley MP, regarding Macpherson’s abuse of state resources to host an Imbizo in the ward — a thinly veiled campaign event paid for by taxpayers.
These questions are necessary and justified.
This is not the first time the DA has attempted to create imaginary opponents in by-elections to sow confusion and manipulate voters.
During the Ward 35 by-election last year, the DA falsely claimed that the MK Party was contesting, when it was not. The same tactics are being employed again in Ward 110, and it’s clear that the desperation is beginning to show.
We urge Dean Macpherson to focus on his own campaign and leave ActionSA out of his fabrications. If he is confident in the support of the people, he should welcome scrutiny — not lash out at those who dare to question his conduct.
ActionSA remains committed to clean governance, accountability, and the protection of public resources from political abuse — no matter who is in power.
