Multi-Party Coalition to Use 2nd Chance to Serve Residents Better
Multi-Party Coalition
ActionSA in the City of Ekurhuleni
The multi-party coalition in Ekurhuleni has been restored to govern the City following the successful re-election of Mayor Tania Campbell today, 124 votes to 99 with 1 spoilt ballot.
This victory arose from the inability of the ANC and EFF to come together in what can only be regarded as a blow to the ANC’s plans ahead of the 2024 provincial elections. Most importantly, it arises from political parties sticking together to prevent a return of ANC governance.
The political parties in our multi party coalition in Ekurhuleni will now come together to re-establish government and focus on the service delivery in the City. Parties in the multi-party coalition will now come together to see how this 2nd opportunity can translate into better service delivery experienced by all residents of Ekurhuleni.
Part of the work of the multi-party coalition must be efforts to ensure stability going forward so that efforts to improve service delivery can take effect over sustained periods of time. While unexpected, we acknowledge the support of the EFF today.
There is little time to celebrate this victory because the work of government must now take priority. We offer the assurance to all residents of Ekurhuleni that our focus is placed entirely on their many pressing service delivery needs.
