Following ActionSA’s engagement with some of the affected youth under this programme, we have submitted a request for an investigation to the Public Service Commission to investigate these allegations.
As a party grounded in social justice, and at a time when the youth of our country are living under desperate conditions due to the lack of employment opportunities, ActionSA refuses to stand by idly and watch as Premier Lesufi and the ANC take advantage of their desperation.
It is utterly unacceptable that these young people, some of whom hold university degrees, are subjected to conditions akin to slavery, where their labour is exploited without pay. It is egregious that the ANC and Premier Lesufi have chosen to exploit these young people to evade their inevitable removal from power.
ActionSA wants to warn every young person in our province not to fall victim to Panyaza’s Nas’iSpani scam. The Premier’s intention with this half-cooked scheme is to create a false public perception that his government is creating jobs, so as to improve the ANC’s electoral prospects.
Our infrastructure framework, which is a detailed plan to restore and rebuild public infrastructure across the province, is just one way through which ActionSA aims to create employment opportunities across the province. However, this can only be realised if we collectively take Action to fix our province by voting for ActionSA on May 29.
