The legitimate leadership of Setsoto Service Delivery Forum (SSDF) – who has eight out of the 33 councillors in the Setsoto Local Municipality in the 2021 municipal elections – has today signed a memorandum of understanding with ActionSA to campaign for the party in the upcoming elections, and mobilise its voters to vote for the party.
The signing of the memorandum is an important milestone in the mission to fix South Africa by removing the ruling party out of government and replacing it with a credible alternative. It will require patriotic South Africans such as the SSDF and ActionSA to work together to convince as many voters as possible to vote in the upcoming elections.
SSDF is a well-respected community forum in the Setsoto Local Municipality and enjoys large support which will play an important role in putting up an formidable challenge to the ruling party in the Free State. The Free State has for too long been hollowed out by established political parties who have shown not to care about the province’s people.
The SSDF emerged before the 2021 municipal elections as a movement of civil society in the Setsoto Local Municipality to turn around the Setsoto Local Municipality which consecutive governments have left in a state of disrepair. Despite taking on the ruling party head-on, the SSDF secured an impressive 23% of the popular vote.
It is the work organisations such as the SSDF and ActionSA that decides to work that will turn-around the decay of South Africa by removing the ruling party, and fixing the country. But, for that to happened it will require that thousands of activists to spread the message of action and help to register new voters – an area where SSDF will play an important role.
SSDF and ActionSA will work tirelessly towards our mission to remove the ruling party out of government in the upcoming elections, and replace it with an ethical government which will put the people of South Africa first. A better more prosperous South Africa is possible, but that will require that people take action and vote for a credible political alternative.
