On Thursday 10 February 2022, President Ramaphosa will once again deliver his State of the Nation Address. 

SONA has always been charactarised by glitz, glamour, and empty rhetoric from our President. It is a moment where the head of state presumes to understand the lived experiences of the majority of South Africans, a time within which lofty commitments are made, with zero evidence that they will ever be followed through on. 

ActionSA is an organisation that stems from the People’s Dialogue. We have long since said that the best people to assess the realities of what it means to live in South Africa, are YOU – South Africans. 

Ahead of yet another SONA, where the president will tell you what the State of the Nation that you experience on a daily basis, we want to ask YOU what your view is of the State of the Nation, and what you think needs to be done to address it.
