ActionSA Invites Public Inputs on Building Prosperous and Inclusive Municipalities

ActionSA invites South Africans to reclaim their political power by having a say in what they believe should be the top services delivery priorities for their municipalities. In turn, we will ensure that these priorities form an integral part of our offering to residents in the coming Local Government elections and beyond.

In addition, we invite residents to submit any additional ideas on how they think services can be improved in their communities. We also welcome the participation of subject matter experts who wish to share their views on how we can build prosperous and inclusive municipalities.

As a party borne out of public engagement and consultation, ActionSA believes that the project of fixing South Africa is best served by giving ordinary South Africans a voice in shaping our collective future.

That is why we are committed to ensuring we continuously consult with communities on their needs. From our founding roots in the People’s Dialogue, it has been the views of ordinary South Africans which views have ordered our steps. Today, we continue to build on those roots.

In the last election, 18.3 million South Africans did not vote because they had lost faith in political representatives’ ability to fight for communities needs. Political parties and their members were more interested in enriching themselves rather than ensuring service delivery.

We know that South Africans are gatvol of unethical, incompetent and uncaring politicians who know nothing of their hardships – ActionSA stands ready to change our political system by making sure that residents have a say in the governance of their community at every step of the way.

We invite all residents across South Africa, including those in the municipalities we are contesting, in the municipalities of Johannesburg, Tshwane, Ekurhuleni, eThekwini, Newcastle and KwaDukuza to make their voices heard on what they believe makes for:

  • responsive and well-run municipalities;
  • inclusive and liveable municipalities;
  • sustainable and resilient municipalities;
  • safe and secure municipalities;
  • competitive and/ or modern municipalities, and;
  • any issues specific to their community or local government in general

Submissions can be made at: actionsa.org.za/have-your-say until the 18th of August 2021.

ActionSA stands ready to provide an alternative to the broken political system that has failed South Africans. We are assembling a team of South Africans committed to public service and not service of political parties, who have the skills, experience, and knowledge to achieve our vision for a country that works for all its residents.
