ActionSA MMC of Transport Launches a R90 Million Bus Refurbishment Programme

Yesterday, the MMC of Transport, Cllr Funzi Ngobeni, launched the R90 Million Metrobus refurbishment project aimed at bettering the quality of public transport for the residents of Johannesburg.

In so doing, he unveiled 105 newly refurbished busses that have been made available for use for the countless Johannesburg residents who rely on public transport to get to and from work.

“This achievement surpassed the initial target of 100 busses. ActionSA thanks our coalition partners for their collective work in making this achievement possible. This refurbishment is not merely a cosmetic exercise but will significantly improve reliability and the customer service our residents experience, as well as better connect communities to places of work and recreation.” – MMC Funzi Ngobeni

Metrobus has been part of the Johannesburg community for decades and remains an integral part of getting our residents to and from work every day.

These 105 busses will be re-joining the Metrobus fleet. The MMC is fully committed to the project of fixing the city’s mobility challenges.
