ActionSA is proud to announce that in addition to contesting Ward 53 by-election in Soweto on the 1 June 2022, ActionSA Senate has resolved to also contest our first by election outside of Gauteng Province.
ActionSA Eastern Cape Provincial Chairperson, Athol Trollip has been mandated to make all the necessary arrangements to contest and win the ward 43 by-election in Kwanobuhle in the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM).
The by election has come about due to the recent, assassination-style shooting of the ANC ward councillor and branch treasurer.
Kwanobuhle is a forgotten community in a corner of the NMBM and we will be doing everything possible to identify the very best candidate who is a resident in the ward to represent ActionSA and the people of ward 43 in the by-election scheduled to take place on 6 July 2022.
The successful candidate will be announced as soon as the candidate selection process is concluded. The candidate once elected, will play a crucial role in bringing some much-needed coalition stability to a non-ANC-led coalition.
Change has already come to Nelson Mandela Bay when everyone especially the ANC said it wouldn’t and it’s set to happen again with ActionSA preparing to have a councillor elected in the City.
