City of Tshwane Creates Real Jobs Where GNU Can’t

ActionSA welcomes news that the City of Tshwane, led by Dr. Nasiphi Moya and her coalition team, has accounted for an astounding 85% of new jobs created in Gauteng, according to the latest Quarterly Labour Force Survey.

This shows a City which doesn’t just promise job creation but delivers, proving that good governance is a reality when the right people with the right policies are put in charge.

Of the 71 000 jobs created in the City over the past year, 57 000 of those were just in the last quarter, indicating exponential job growth. In even more spectacular fashion, Tshwane created more jobs than Cape Town, Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and eThekwini combined.

This isn’t by mere chance. The changing of our Capital’s economic reality follows the adoption of the Tshwane Economic Revitalisation Strategy by this coalition, which seeks to create R17 billion in new investments over the following five years, as well as an average of 3.9% economic growth.

The concrete results being delivered by Mayor Moya and her partners shows South Africans what competent government driven by pragmatic, sensible policy looks like. The desperate opposition may attempt to discredit this work, but that is done with difficulty when residents can see things are changing for the first time in years under this administration.

This good news for South Africans comes at a time when the GNU is deepening the unemployment crisis across South Africa because of its failure to produce coherent economic reforms, which will be worsened in time due to the US tariffs on South African exports.

ActionSA commends this job growth in the City of Tshwane, as more evidence responding to the improvement of finances, government, and service delivery.
