Electoral Court Issues Directives Ahead of Considering ActionSA’s Case

The Electoral Court has responded to ActionSA’s filing of our notice of motion by issuing directives to the parties.

The case, recorded as 006/21EC, shall be managed by:

• The Respondent filing opposing papers by close of business on Tuesday 12 October 2021; and
• The Applicant filing our replying papers by close of business on Friday 15 October 2021.

The court has reserved the right to adjudicate the matter on the papers without necessarily hearing oral arguments.

ActionSA respects the directive of the court but expresses regret at these timeframes. This matter is disproportionately more urgent than these timeframes reflect.
