Dear Candidate,
It is with great pleasure that I write to inform you that your candidature to be the ActionSA ward candidate has been successful.
Given that our approach to involving the communities in the election of our candidates is a first in South African politics, you have every reason to be proud.
As the successful candidate in your ward, you will be assuming the role of the Branch Campaign Manager (BCM) according to section 2.8.2 of our ActionSA Constitution. This means that you will become the person responsible to lead the branch and plan its activities.
As the very first step you take, I would strongly urge you to focus on uniting your branch. You should engage the unsuccessful candidates and the BCM, should that have been someone other than yourself and bring everyone together. For what it may be worth, I would recommend that you assign meaningful roles to such people to co-opt them into team and demonstrate your commitment to working together.
Currently, it is imperative that we successfully conclude the flighting of our registration posters on main arterial roads and around voting stations.
Our branches must begin planning now for a likely lifting of gathering restrictions in the coming days. This will be to ensure that we are active and visible in every ward in the province with the particular purpose of identifying people who need to register to vote.
In this regard registration leaflets and placards will be made available to support blitzes at traffic intersections and other strategic areas once restrictions are lifted.
It would also be wise to ensure that we are using the current time to plan our registration weekend operations which will involve party agents monitoring registrations inside the voting stations, transporting of unregistered ActionSA supporters to register and front of house operations outside the voting stations.
Congratulations once again, we look forward to working alongside you in this campaign.
Kind Regards
Michael Beaumont
National Chairperson
