Dear Fellow South Africans,
Aside from being overwhelmed by the positive reception we received. I was surprised by how threatened the established political parties were by ActionSA’s arrival in the province. Ahead of community visits in Gqeberha, Saint Francis Bay, and Makhanda, the political establishment attempted to intimidate residents and dissuade them from attending our gatherings.
In particular, in Makhanda Extension 9, when the ruling party learned that we paid and booked a community hall in the area, they mobilised a handful of their members in an attempt to disrupt our gathering. They removed our members from the hall, set up gazebos outside, and started playing loud music in an attempt to disrupt close to a hundred community members who gathered with ActionSA.
But, Actioners were undeterred. We continued the meeting outside the hall – in full sight of the few ruling party members – where community members listened attentively to ActionSA’s solutions to secure our borders, restore the rule of law, and bring economic justice to ensure that all South Africans have access to a better life.
This is the secret to ActionSA’s success. As Athol mentioned at a community meeting in Pellsrus Hall in Jeffrey’s Bay on Friday evening, unlike other political parties, ActionSA doesn’t come with any baggage when it enters communities. There’s no stigma about racial discrimination or corruption allegations, and therefore Actioners have no hurdles to overcome to share the ActionSA message.
At that same community meeting in Jeffrey’s Bay, one young community member began crying after hearing ActionSA’s message. He explained that after years of drug abuse, stemming from a lack of hope for his future, ActionSA had given him optimism for a better life for himself and his family.
This is why we do the work we do. This is why I made the difficult decision to leave behind my wife and children in Johannesburg and travel to the Eastern Cape to bring hope to communities who have been let down by the current political establishment.
All around South Africa, Actioners are on the move sharing the hope ActionSA has to offer. We do this work, not because we like it, but because we love South Africa too much to allow it to be destroyed by unpatriotic and greedy politicians.
This year, we have an opportunity to turn that hope into action when we vote to kick the ruling party into the dustbin of history and fix this country. The time is now to take action and tell everyone you know to register to vote, and vote for a better tomorrow.
Because only through taking action can we fix South Africa.
