ActionSA has opened a case of assault after one of our members was brutally attacked after attending a branch launch with ActionSA President, Herman Mashaba, in Barberton, Mpumalanga, over the past weekend.

ActionSA believes Deputy President Paul Mashatile’s admission that his South African Police Service (SAPS) VIP Protection Unit was involved in assaulting three South Africans on a Gauteng highway raises serious questions about the Deputy President’s ethics which have left a lot to be desired in recent history.

ActionSA has written to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) head Dikeledi Jennifer Ntlatseng to urgently investigate the incident where members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) VIP unit assaulted three South Africans on the side of a Gauteng highway.

ActionSA notes and cautiously welcomes the internal investigation instituted by the Department of Health in Limpopo that relates to the coal tender which was issued to hospitals in the Province including those that do not have coal boilers.

ActionSA will file an application in terms of PAIA to get access to the tender documents relating to the R520 million security tender scandal in the North West Province.
