ActionSA is outraged that Sylvester Ezuko Uchekpu – the undocumented foreign national who intimidated Patricia Khoza’s son Chisom Khoza in Primrose, Germiston two weeks ago – was released on R500 bail despite a lack of proof that he’s in the country legally and having a previous conviction of possession of drugs. Meanwhile, Chisom was today irregularly charged with assaulting Uchekpu despite the opposite happening, which is similar to how Patricia was charged with assault last year after helping to get an undocumented foreign national arrested for hijacking a building.
ActionSA welcomes the arrest of Sylvester Ezuko Uchekpu – the undocumented foreign national who intimidated Patricia Khoza’s son Chisom Khoza – after several delays by police in Primrose, Germiston, this morning. We are, however, concerned that in line with previous tactics used, Chisom is expected to be charged after a complaint was laid by Uchekpu.
ActionSA welcomes the ruling at the Seshego Magistrate’s Court to have EFF Councillor, Jacob Seshoka, remanded in police custody until the formal application of his bail on Friday, 12 January 2023, along with his co-accused. Considering the gravity of the alleged crime, this a victory for the community of Moletjie and Bloodriver.
ActionSA urgently calls for working cooperation among health bodies, parents, communities, and Ulwaluko custodians. While respecting the cultural significance of the initiation, the alarming fatalities demand immediate action. The over 30 deaths of Ulwaluko initiates in the Eastern Cape this summer season reflect a collective failure, and we urge custodians to eliminate misconduct for the safety of our youth and young boys.
ActionSA strongly condemns the Kai! Garib Local Municipality for its gross negligence in providing contaminated with E. Coli to the residents of Keimoes and will be reporting this to the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) to investigate urgently.
ActionSA is outraged that, at a time when South Africa’s public finances are under severe strain, the President, the Minister of Electricity, and Eskom (and other organs of state), have rather elected to apply for leave to appeal the landmark judgement handed down by the Full Bench of the North Gauteng High Court on 1 December 2023. This judgment declared load shedding unconstitutional and ordered the Minister of Electricity – together with organs of state – ensure that electricity supply be ensured for public schools, hospitals, and the SAPS.

ActionSA is extremely concerned that 24 hours after the Germiston Magistrates’ Court issued a warrant of arrest for the undocumented foreign national who harrassed Patrica Khoza’s son – the woman who helped get an undocumented foreign national arrested for hijacking a building in Germiston, Ekurhuleni – the Germiston police have simply ignored acting on the arrest.

ActionSA has written to Gauteng Provincial Commissioner General Elias Mawela to intervene in Patrica Khoza’s criminal charges against an undocumented immigrant at the Primrose Police in Germiston, Ekurhuleni, to avoid further abuse of justice. If the Commissioner fails to take any action, ActionSA would be left with no other choice but to consider alternative legal remedies.
